Maternity Photos

Even though I look (and feel) huge, we decided to do a few maternity photos this time around especially since Mason's been so excited about "his baby." It happened to be a hot, very sunny day and Mason couldn't wait until we were done so he could go to the splash park. Despite it all, we managed to get a few worth sharing...

32 Weeks

We had an ultrasound this week to check baby's size and my fluid levels. Based on his measurements, he was estimated to weigh about 4lb. 12oz. The OB said to expect him to be around the same size as Mason was. He is positioned head down already and the doctor said that he is unlikely to shift at this point. He even decided to show off and kick the ultrasound probe which both the doctor and Mason found quite amusing!

Mason's First Trip to the Dentist

We've been trying to convince Mason to get his teeth cleaned for what seems like forever. Our dentist encouraged us just to wait until he was ready. Recently he's seemed to be agreeable so we made an appointment and hoped for the best (while we expected the worst)! Today was the day and he was awesome! He walked right in and climbed in the chair for the cleaning. It's hard to say who was more proud, him or us!

King Louisville

For vacation this year we wanted to take a road trip for a few days since I wasn't sure how up I'd feel to flying while 7 months pregnant. Devin suggested Louisville, Kentucky and we decided to go for it! We ended up both having the day before we left off of work unexpectedly so we left early and spent a night in Indianapolis to break up the drive a bit. While there we took Mason to the Children's museum. We went there in November and he had so much fun that we decided to go back!
Ready to hit the road!
Unfortunately, my camera decided to break so I lost the first half of the day's pictures (some really good ones too). Needless to say, we still got a few!

After spending the night in Indy, we woke up and set out to Louisville. On the way to our hotel we stopped for lunch at Huber's Farm & Restaurant. Some of the attractions were closed due to it being a weekday, but the food was great and Mason had a good time checking everything out.

Once we checked in to the hotel we took a quick walk around the city before taking a swim. It was during this walk that Mason discovered what would turn out to be one of the highlights of the trip for him. The Louisville visitor center was right next to our hotel and housed a life-size statue of Colonel Sanders. He dubbed him the chicken man and made daily visits to him for photos! After the swim we got ready for dinner at the Hard Rock (Mason's request) where he crashed after ordering his food!

To start out our first full day, we went to the science center. There were lots of cool exhibits to explore and admission was free since we're members at the science museum here!

We decided to head over to Churchill Downs, spur of the moment, to check out the museum they have there with the hopes of a track tour. Once we got there we realized that there were races that day, so we aborted the museum plan and simply went to the races. Mason got a kick out of seeing the horses race and even called two races in a row (Devin was glad he listened to him on the second race). This adventure turned out to be one of the trip favorites!

Devin decided to quit while he was ahead so we ventured back to the hotel for dinner at the "troll restaurant" and the daily visit to the chicken man.

We spent the next day doing mostly baseball themed things. Our first stop was the Louisville Slugger Bat Factory and Museum. This place was really cool. We took a tour of the factory, saw many cool exhibits, and got both boys a personalized Louisville Slugger bat. We each got a mini bat to take home with us at the end of the tour.

After a little swim break (and a visit to the chicken man), we got ready to see the Louisville Bats play the Indianapolis Indians. Louisville Slugger Field was a really nice ballpark. They had a lot of activities for kids including free inflatable fun zone, carousel, and multiple playgrounds. Mason, of course, found them all! He even got to run the bases after the game.

Our final day was spent at the Louisville Zoo. Mason loves zoos and this one did not disappoint. He especially liked that it had a splash park.

This turned out to be a great vacation. It was nice to get away and see a new city while still having a chance to relax. I think Mason had a great time!
