5 Year Anniversary

For our anniversary Devin and I spent the night downtown while Mason had a sleepover with Grandma Monica and Papa Gene. We went on a Wendella boat cruise for an architectural tour of the city and learned a lot. We got to ride on the river and the lake so we went through the locks which was a neat experience. The weather was beautiful and we had a really great time. After doing some shopping we had dinner at the Capital Grille. It was a really tasty meal and we even got free dessert! We had a really nice night away from home, but couldn't wait to pick up our little dude!

Color in Motion 5K

I decided to do one of the many "color runs" out there this year and took Mason along for the journey. Unfortunately when we arrived we realized that it was cold and drizzling. While it made the day more interesting, neither Devin nor Mason had jackets so we had to improvise! Mason made the trek while wearing socks on his arms like running sleeves. Luckily, he thought it was the funniest thing to wear them and run with mommy to "get messy." As an added bonus one of the sponsors was handing out ring pops so Mason could even snack easily while wearing the socks! There weren't a lot of kids his age there and many of the ones that were were scared of the colored powder flying at them. Mason thought it was awesome so everyone kept throwing more on him. Here are the results!

Poor kid was freezing by the end!

Even Devin got a little color waiting on the sidelines (wearing my hoodie to stay warm)

Cavalcade of Planes

It's no secret that Mason loves airplanes so we've been anxiously awaiting the time of year when the local airport has their Cavalcade of Planes. Mason had so much fun looking at all the planes and seeing them land. There was lots of airplane merchandise to buy too! The only downfall was that most of the planes couldn't be touched or climbed in, but he did get to sit in one as well as a fire truck!!
