A Day in the City

The other day we spent the day downtown with Mason. We started out at Navy Pier where he took his first ferris wheel ride. He had a lot of fun looking at the city from high in the sky!

After the rides we went to Margaritaville for lunch. Mason liked dancing to the music while we ate and also became very fond of this chair. Getting him out of it was quite the chore!
Our next stop was the Chicago Children's Museum, also at Navy Pier. Mason had never been there before and I'm pretty sure he'd be willing to go back soon! They had a lot of exhibits that he enjoyed. Some of his favorites were the firetruck, the water play area, the bug area, and a musical slide.

 Splash time!

This child loves anything with a steering wheel
They had a CTA bus set up and if you pushed a button in the back "The Wheels on the Bus" played. This was a hit!
His favorite slide (he rode it non-stop, as evidenced by the blur)

Finally, we met up with Auntie Erica at the Museum of Science of Industry for their Member's Open House. They open the museum up only to members and have some special exhibits and behind the scenes tours. They also had free ice cream! We, however, spent a lot of our time at Mason's favorite exhibit...the circus cat!
