Happy Mother's Day

This year for Mother's Day we made our annual trip to brunch with Auntie Erica and Grandma Monica. The boys got a visit from Auntie Erica afterwards so Mommy got a little time to herself which was a nice gift! These two keep us busy, but I wouldn't trade the chaos for anything. They are amazing little guys and I love them to pieces!

Soccer

Mason has been asking to play soccer, so we finally signed him up for the spring season this year. He's loved practice so far and had his first game this past weekend! He's got a great group of coaches and boys on his team. We're looking forward to what the season holds!

18 Months

Maddon went this past week for his 18 month checkup and the doctor was pleased at his development. His vocabulary is taking off (especially when it comes to Star Wars related terms) and he is a super active boy! We have started working on the potty and he seems to enjoy wearing big boy undies at home. He gets very proud of himself when he's successful! He is very interested in blocks and does a great job building towers with them. He also has a big interest in trains (choo-choos). He loves doing anything that his brother is doing and tries to keep up with Mason at all times. He's such a funny little guy!

He now weighs 26 pounds 6 ounces, is 2 feet and 9.5 inches, and has a head circumference of 18.5 inches.

Happy Easter

Easter weekend was full of festivities this year! We started out by attending the same two egg hunts that we go to every year. This was the first year that Maddon went out to get eggs and he thought it was great! The second he found some candy that spilled on the ground, however, he became more interested in eating that than finding more eggs! For the first egg hunt Mason went to his field with Daddy and Maddon with Mommy and we did a parent swap for the afternoon hunt. Both boys did a great job and came home with lots of treats!

After the egg hunts were complete, it was time to color our eggs at home and get the baskets out for the bunny. Mason made the egg dye all by himself this year and had a blast coloring his eggs. He did a great job and decorated them with Star Wars stickers once the color was dry. He really enjoyed writing messages on the eggs with white crayon before coloring them and then revealing the messages!

Easter morning brought full baskets, bunny footprints, and a yard full of eggs to our house. The boys looked through all of the goodies that the bunny left them before following the footprints into the backyard to hunt for more eggs. Then it was time to relax a bit before going to brunch and Grandma's.

Spring Tea

I had the pleasure of attending Mason's Spring Tea at school. It was a nice day and the best of all the Spring Tea's I've been to. The kids sang us a few songs and then sat with us for our "tea." We had cookies that they made us along with sandwiches and fruit. They made the centerpieces for the tables and even special seating cards with their pictures and adjectives to describe them (that we turned in ahead of time). Then we had an opportunity to read to the class the flowers that we wrote about what makes our child special. In return, the kids had made caterpillars and written a reason why they love us. It was a very special day and bittersweet to know that my baby is on to kindergarten next year, so this was my last Spring Tea with him.
