Coloring Easter Eggs

This year we let Mason help decorate our Easter eggs. I still wasn't brave enough to let him touch the dye, but he watched us color them and then he got to decorate them with his Phineas and Ferb kit. He actually seemed amused by the whole process. Perhaps next year he can get his hands dirty :)

Easter Bunny

After Mason's refusal to sit with Santa, we were hesitant to stop and see the Easter Bunny. We decided to give it a try though and were pleasantly surprised. He ran right up to the bunny and sat on the bench next to it (it was not a particularly affectionate bunny). You can see by the look on his face, though, that he wasn't sure why we were trying so hard to get a picture of him with this furry creature!

First Day of Swim Lessons

We've known for quite some time that Mason loves the water, but he's been dog paddling in the bath tub for months now so we decided to sign him up for swim lessons. He had his first class today and loved it (no surprise there)! It seems to be a nice mixture of games and getting him ready to swim. He got to spend time swimming on his belly, floating on his back, kicking, blowing bubbles, and jumping in. They even try to teach them safe entry into the pool.

Before class started

First exercise in class
They played a game where they have to swim for ducks. Here Mason is swimming for his ducks.
Got them!
They also did an exercise to teach the kids to crawl out of the pool and jump in. Here's a video of the part where they're supposed to jump in. Surprisingly, Mason was too busy clapping to jump in. We'll see if that changes!

15 Months

Mason just had his 15 month check-up and is doing great! The doctor said he is tall for his age and that his speech development is more advanced than it needs to be for his age and gender. He is continuing to get into more and more trouble as he climbs on bigger things! He no longer wants to sit in his highchair and has moved up to a booster seat at mealtime. He is getting easier to communicate with. He will tell you many things that he wants such as cheese, milk, fish, and "nana." If he doesn't know the word he relies on this and that. He is very interested in cars and announces whenever he sees one. He still loves to go bye bye and hates coming back inside. He now has all four of his first molars for a total of 12 teeth. He keeps us busy, but surprises us with something new everyday!

He now weighs 26 pounds 6 ounces, is 2 feet and 8 inches, and has a head circumference of 19 inches.

Sledding

We haven't gotten much snow this year so as soon as we did we got Mason out to sled. This year he went with Mommy and Auntie Erica to the sledding hill to see how he'd do. He absolutely loved it! Everytime he'd get to the bottom of the hill he would tell us he wanted more. We finally had to pick him up and leave when it got too dark to see!

Love the rosy cheeks after getting home

No more pictures Mommy!

New Year's Eve (Indiana Christmas)

We spent New Year's Eve at Grandma and Grandpa Miller's house for our Christmas there. Mason had a great time seeing everyone, eating Grandma's goodies, and chasing Auntie Randa around the house. He got lots of new toys too!
