Mason's First Halloween

Although he was only a week old, Mason celebrated his first halloween. He dressed up like a bat and even got his first trick-or-treat bag filled with goodies from Grandma.

Welcome Mason

I realize this is old news to some, but things have been a bit busy lately and I haven't had time to post. Regardless, we happily welcomed Mason Cole on October 24. I was scheduled to be induced on the 27th, but on the morning of the 24th I began having contractions. At 6:48 PM our little guy arrived weighing in at 8 lbs. 8oz. and 21.5 inches long. He's kept us busy, but we're beginning to settle in to a "new normal." He's a sweet baby and it's so fun seeing bits and pieces of his personality. We're so glad that he's finally here!

Last week we had another ultrasound to check on baby's growth. He is now estimated to weigh 8lbs. 7oz. at 36 weeks (give or take a pound). The doctor at that office suggested an alternate due date of October 11, but my OB says now we just wait. Everything is progressing as it should. She said if my due date is off then he'll arrive earlier than expected! Here's a few pictures of him although they don't look much different than the last ones.

The Baby's Room

33 Weeks

We had what we thought would be our last ultrasound today to check the baby's head and kidneys. All of that seemed to check out fine, but as we suspected, he's running on the big side. The ultrasound estimated that he weighs about 6lb. 6oz. based on his measurements, which is more like a 36 week old. We have to go back for another ultrasound in 3 weeks to check his size again. Here's a few pics of him at just about 33 weeks.

Baby Shower

Last weekend we had our baby shower. It was great to see a lot of family that we haven't seen in quite some time. My mom & sister did a great job with the shower. The baby got so many presents. It's crazy how someone so small needs so much stuff! Needless to say, we appreciate everything that everyone has done for us. We're grateful to have such generous friends and family and anxious to meet our little boy!

It's a boy!!

We had another ultrasound today to check for any signs of Dandy Walker Syndrome (the problem Devin had) and to determine the baby's gender. I had a feeling that it's a boy and turned out to be right. We've been referring to it as a boy for quite some time now so it's a good thing we weren't wrong. So far the baby appears to be developing normally. We'll have another ultrasound to follow up around 32 weeks.
